  古之(zhi)善為(wei)士者,微妙玄通,深不(bu)可識(shi)。夫唯不(bu)可識(shi),故強為(wei)之(zhi)容(rong):豫兮,若(ruo)(ruo)冬(dong)涉(she)川;猶(you)兮,若(ruo)(ruo)畏四鄰(lin);儼兮,其若(ruo)(ruo)客(ke);渙兮,若(ruo)(ruo)冰之(zhi)將釋(shi);敦兮,其若(ruo)(ruo)樸;曠(kuang)兮,其若(ruo)(ruo)谷(gu);渾兮,其若(ruo)(ruo)濁(zhuo)。孰(shu)能濁(zhuo)以澄靜之(zhi),徐清?孰(shu)能安以久動之(zhi),徐生?保(bao)此道(dao)者不(bu)欲(yu)盈(ying),故能敝不(bu)新成。


  太上(shang)前章言(yan)道(dao)(dao)體,此(ci)(ci)言(yan)體道(dao)(dao)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)人(ren)(ren)(ren)。人(ren)(ren)(ren)與道(dao)(dao),是二而(er)(er)(er)一(yi)(yi)也(ye)。道(dao)(dao)無(wu)(wu)可(ke)(ke)見(jian),因人(ren)(ren)(ren)可(ke)(ke)見(jian)。人(ren)(ren)(ren)何(he)能(neng)仙?以(yi)道(dao)(dao)而(er)(er)(er)仙。道(dao)(dao)者(zhe)(zhe)何(he)?真(zhen)一(yi)(yi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)氣(qi)(qi)也(ye)。真(zhen)一(yi)(yi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)氣(qi)(qi),即《中庸》之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)德也(ye)。欲(yu)修(xiu)大道(dao)(dao),豈有(you)他哉?文王小(xiao)心(xin)(xin)翼翼昭事(shi)(shi)上(shang)帝,孔子(zi)足縮縮如(ru)(ru)(ru)(ru)有(you)循。道(dao)(dao)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)為道(dao)(dao),不過(guo)一(yi)(yi)敬焉耳。人(ren)(ren)(ren)能(neng)以(yi)敬居心(xin)(xin),一(yi)(yi)念不茍,一(yi)(yi)事(shi)(shi)不輕(qing),大道(dao)(dao)不即在此(ci)(ci)乎(hu)?雖然(ran)(ran),道(dao)(dao)無(wu)(wu)奇怪(guai),尤賴有(you)體道(dao)(dao)者(zhe)(zhe)存乎(hu)其(qi)(qi)間(jian),斯道(dao)(dao)乃不虛懸于(yu)天壤。故(gu)太上(shang)云:古(gu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)善為士(shi)者(zhe)(zhe),其(qi)(qi)為物(wu)不二,則(ze)其(qi)(qi)生(sheng)(sheng)物(wu)不測。何(he)至(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)至(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)微而(er)(er)(er)至(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)妙(miao)乎(hu)?”寂然(ran)(ran)不動(dong),感而(er)(er)(er)遂通(tong)。”何(he)其(qi)(qi)至(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)玄(xuan)而(er)(er)(er)至(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)通(tong)乎(hu)?顧其(qi)(qi)心(xin)(xin)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)浩浩,氣(qi)(qi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)洋(yang)洋(yang),不啻江河(he)(he)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)深,令人(ren)(ren)(ren)無(wu)(wu)從測識(shi)。故(gu)太上(shang)曰”夫惟不識(shi),故(gu)強為之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)容”。以(yi)明(ming)其(qi)(qi)內之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)真(zhen)不可(ke)(ke)得而(er)(er)(er)測,其(qi)(qi)外(wai)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)容有(you)可(ke)(ke)強而(er)(er)(er)形焉。其(qi)(qi)心(xin)(xin)心(xin)(xin)慎獨(du),在在存誠,如(ru)(ru)(ru)(ru)豫之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)渡河(he)(he),必俟冰凝(ning)而(er)(er)(er)后渡;若(ruo)猶之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)夜行(xing),必待風靜(jing)而(er)(er)(er)后行(xing),最小(xiao)心(xin)(xin)也(ye)。其(qi)(qi)整齊(qi)嚴肅(su),亦如(ru)(ru)(ru)(ru)顯(xian)客(ke)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)遙臨,不敢稍慢;其(qi)(qi)脫然(ran)(ran)無(wu)(wu)所累,夷(yi)然(ran)(ran)無(wu)(wu)可(ke)(ke)系(xi),又似冰釋(shi)為水,杳無(wu)(wu)形跡(ji)可(ke)(ke)尋;其(qi)(qi)忠厚存心(xin)(xin),仁慈待物(wu),渾(hun)(hun)如(ru)(ru)(ru)(ru)太樸完全,雕琢不事(shi)(shi),而(er)(er)(er)渾(hun)(hun)然(ran)(ran)無(wu)(wu)間(jian);其(qi)(qi)休休有(you)容,謙(qian)謙(qian)自抑(yi),何(he)異深山(shan)窮(qiong)谷(gu),虛而(er)(er)(er)無(wu)(wu)物(wu),大而(er)(er)(er)能(neng)容耶?其(qi)(qi)形如(ru)(ru)(ru)(ru)此(ci)(ci),其(qi)(qi)性(xing)可(ke)(ke)知。要皆渾(hun)(hun)天載于(yu)無(wu)(wu)聲,順(shun)帝之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)則(ze)而(er)(er)(er)不識(shi)。宛若(ruo)舜(shun)居深山(shan),了無(wu)(wu)異于(yu)深山(shan)野人(ren)(ren)(ren)者(zhe)(zhe)。其(qi)(qi)渾(hun)(hun)噩之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)風,豈昏(hun)濁(zhuo)(zhuo)者(zhe)(zhe)所得而(er)(er)(er)擬乎(hu)?但渾(hun)(hun)與濁(zhuo)(zhuo)相肖,圣(sheng)(sheng)與凡一(yi)(yi)理,凡人(ren)(ren)(ren)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)濁(zhuo)(zhuo)真(zhen)濁(zhuo)(zhuo)也(ye);圣(sheng)(sheng)人(ren)(ren)(ren)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)濁(zhuo)(zhuo),渾(hun)(hun)若(ruo)濁(zhuo)(zhuo)也(ye),實則(ze)至(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)濁(zhuo)(zhuo)而(er)(er)(er)至(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)清(qing)。然(ran)(ran)圣(sheng)(sheng)不自圣(sheng)(sheng),所以(yi)為圣(sheng)(sheng);凡不自凡,竟自為凡。孰能(neng)于(yu)心(xin)(xin)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)染(ran)污者(zhe)(zhe)而(er)(er)(er)澄之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)使靜(jing),俟其(qi)(qi)靜(jing)久(jiu)(jiu)而(er)(er)(er)清(qing)光現焉:孰能(neng)于(yu)性(xing)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)本安者(zhe)(zhe)而(er)(er)(er)涵泳(yong)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)、擴(kuo)充之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),迨(dai)其(qi)(qi)養之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)久(jiu)(jiu)久(jiu)(jiu),而(er)(er)(er)生(sheng)(sheng)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)徐(xu)(xu)徐(xu)(xu),采以(yi)為藥,煉(lian)以(yi)為丹?保生(sheng)(sheng)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)道(dao)(dao),不誠在是乎(hu)?此(ci)(ci)靜(jing)以(yi)凝(ning)神,動(dong)以(yi)生(sheng)(sheng)氣(qi)(qi),即守中,即陽(yang)生(sheng)(sheng)活子(zi)時也(ye)。由(you)此(ci)(ci)一(yi)(yi)升一(yi)(yi)降,收歸爐內,漸(jian)(jian)采漸(jian)(jian)煉(lian),漸(jian)(jian)煉(lian)漸(jian)(jian)凝(ning),無(wu)(wu)非一(yi)(yi)心(xin)(xin)不二,萬緣皆空,保守此(ci)(ci)陽(yang)而(er)(er)(er)已。有(you)而(er)(er)(er)愈(yu)者(zhe)(zhe),虛而(er)(er)(er)愈(yu)虛。有(you)至(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)虛之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)心(xin)(xin),無(wu)(wu)持盈之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)念,是以(yi)能(neng)返真(zhen)一(yi)(yi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)氣(qi)(qi),得真(zhen)常之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)道(dao)(dao)焉。又曰”能(neng)敝不新成”者(zhe)(zhe)何(he)?蓋以(yi)凡事(shi)(shi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)新成者(zhe)(zhe),其(qi)(qi)敝必速,茲則(ze)敝之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)無(wu)(wu)可(ke)(ke)敝也(ye)。敝者(zhe)(zhe)其(qi)(qi)跡(ji),不敝者(zhe)(zhe)其(qi)(qi)神。一(yi)(yi)真(zhen)內含,萬靈(ling)外(wai)著(zhu),其(qi)(qi)微妙(miao)玄(xuan)通(tong),固有(you)如(ru)(ru)(ru)(ru)是焉耳。


  此(ci)言體道(dao)(dao)(dao)(dao)者之(zhi)謹慎小心,雖曰道(dao)(dao)(dao)(dao)本(ben)虛無(wu)(wu)(wu),而(er)(er)有(you)(you)道(dao)(dao)(dao)(dao)高人(ren),自(zi)能無(wu)(wu)(wu)形(xing)而(er)(er)形(xing),無(wu)(wu)(wu)象而(er)(er)象,若內(nei)外一致者然(ran)。章(zhang)內(nei)”若”字七句(ju),皆借物(wu)以形(xing)容道(dao)(dao)(dao)(dao)妙(miao),正見微妙(miao)玄通,淵(yuan)深不(bu)可測度處。”孰能”以下數(shu)句(ju),是言未(wei)(wei)能成德(de),而(er)(er)求(qiu)以入道(dao)(dao)(dao)(dao)者。濁不(bu)易(yi)澄,靜(jing)存則(ze)心體自(zi)潔;安貴于久(jiu),動察則(ze)神智不(bu)窮(qiong)。滿遭(zao)損,故(gu)不(bu)欲盈也;速易(yi)敝,故(gu)不(bu)新成也。吾愿學人(ren)虛而(er)(er)有(you)(you)容,樸(pu)而(er)(er)無(wu)(wu)(wu)琢,渾渾灝灝,隨在(zai)昭誠愨之(zhi)風,斯(si)人(ren)心未(wei)(wei)有(you)(you)不(bu)化為道(dao)(dao)(dao)(dao)心、凡氣未(wei)(wei)有(you)(you)不(bu)易(yi)為真氣者。切勿(wu)以深莫能測,遂(sui)逡(qun)巡而(er)(er)不(bu)前也!
