絕圣棄智,民利百(bai)倍;絕仁棄義,民復孝慈(ci);絕巧棄利,盜賊無(wu)有(you);此三者以為文不(bu)足,故令有(you)所屬:見素抱樸,少私寡欲(yu)。

此喻(yu)修養(yang)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)道,先要存(cun)心養(yang)性,心性一返于(yu)自(zi)然,斯(si)后(hou)天之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)精(jing)氣(qi)(qi),亦返于(yu)先天之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)精(jing)氣(qi)(qi)。倘未見性明心,徒以后(hou)天氣(qi)(qi)質之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)性、知(zhi)覺之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)心為用,則精(jing)屬凡精(jing),氣(qi)(qi)屬凡氣(qi)(qi),安(an)得有(you)真一之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)精(jing)、真一之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)氣(qi)(qi)合而(er)成丹乎(hu)(hu)?修行人須從本源上尋出(chu)一個大本領、真頭腦出(chu)來作主,于(yu)是煉精(jing)煉氣(qi)(qi)煉神,在(zai)在(zai)皆(jie)是矣。悟得此旨(zhi),不(bu)(bu)但(dan)知(zhi)太上之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)經(jing)(jing),治世修身,處處一串,即(ji)四(si)書五(wu)經(jing)(jing),無在(zai)非丹經(jing)(jing)矣。它注言在(zai)上之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)人,絕(jue)棄(qi)圣智(zhi),而(er)民只知(zhi)有(you)利,故(gu)趨利者(zhe)百倍;絕(jue)棄(qi)仁義,而(er)民不(bu)(bu)知(zhi)愛親,故(gu)大反乎(hu)(hu)孝慈——此不(bu)(bu)當(dang)絕(jue)棄(qi)者(zhe)而(er)絕(jue)棄(qi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),其弊(bi)如(ru)此。至于(yu)巧(qiao)利圣智(zhi)仁義相悖(bei),能絕(jue)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)棄(qi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),盜賊何有(you)?此當(dang)絕(jue)棄(qi)者(zhe)絕(jue)棄(qi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),其效如(ru)此。此講甚”高”。三者(zhe)以下(xia),謂治民不(bu)(bu)必(bi)(bi)以令,但(dan)命令必(bi)(bi)本于(yu)躬行所系屬者(zhe)為要。見素則識定,抱璞則神全,少私寡欲,所謂有(you)天下(xia)而(er)不(bu)(bu)與也,非裕(yu)無為之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)化者(zhe),曷克臻此?
